National University Hospital is a multidisciplinary clinic and primary referral center with over 50 medical, surgical and dental specialties offering a full range of care for adults, women and children. It is the only public hospital in Singapore offering a pediatric kidney and liver transplant program for children, in addition to kidney, liver and pancreas transplant for adults.

As a member of the National Health System, National University Hospital is the primary teaching clinic of the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the NUS Faculty of Dentistry.

The clinic employs 7808 people and has 32 operating rooms.

National University Hospital was opened on June 24, 1985 as the first reorganized hospital in Singapore. The hospital serves over a million patients annually. As an academic medical institution, patient safety and good clinical outcomes are the focus of the clinic.

National University Hospital also plays a key role in the training of physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and other healthcare professionals. Translational research is key to the clinic's tripartite focus and is paving the way for new treatments and therapies.
